BEES go MONDRIAN
Ethogram (graphical representation of behavioural sequences)
of a honeybee queen.
Details/Genesis:

Ethogram created by: Robert Brodschneider
The graph (made with MS © Excel) originates from an
ethogram (graphical representation of behavioural sequences) of a honeybee queen.

The colours encode the temporal succession of four different behaviours.
The bottom row represents an excerpt of the original ethogram.
The top row came to existence because of some 'pecularities' of MS Excel - with 'active direction' by Robert Brodschneider.
The similarity with Piet Mondrians abstract work
(Pieter Cornelis Mondriaan; *1872 in Amersfoort, The Netherlands, † 1944 in New York City, USA)
prevented disposal in the Windows trash.

At first sight the innate 'creative power' of honeybees
- as of their behavioural scientists - becomes visible.

'Bee Mondrian', one might say.
